IHSGB Wins the FEIF Youth Prize 2007

IHSGB Youth Leader Julia Reeves accepting the FEIF Youth Prize at the 2007 FEIF Conference

The award was an idea originating from the youth committee and the youth leader meeting and it was presented at the annual conference 2007 – which had Youth as one of the two themes. The prize was handed out to the member country which has done the most for its youngsters – in proportion to the number of youngsters in the country.

Although the IHSGB has relatively few youngsters, there have been plenty of events for them over the past year, and they have shown great initiative in raising money for things like the Youth Camp. The FEIF Youth Committee said how impressed they were with the team spirit shown by the British youngsters, and the array of Icelandic horse-related things for them to do. The British Youth Leader Julia Reeves has put a huge amount of time and effort into raising the profile of younger members of the IHS, and she and the youngsters truly deserve the award.
