Icelandics in the Midlands
A large and active group of Icelandic horse owners is
based in the Midlands. One of the most well-known is
IHSGB Judge Fi Pugh of the Old Hills near Malvern. Fi
has competed at several World Championships and is the
secretary of FEIF, the international Icelandic horse
association. Fi breeds, trains and sells Icelandics, and
gives riding courses either to existing Icelandic
owners, or to people who are interested. She and her
husband Ian have a number of reliable horses suitable
for newcomers to Icelandics to try. Based in East
Anglia, Iris and Daren Ashman have the beautiful silver
dapple stallion Columbus, and sell a wide range of
Icelandic tack and riding supplies. There are also plenty
of individual owners who enjoy pleasure rides, competing
and breeding.
If you don't have your own Icelandic yet and want to
know more about the friendly Icelandic horse scene in
the Midlands, then please contact one of the IHSGB
members who will be really happy to talk to you.
