Four year old silver dapple bay Icelandic mare. Started and riding out quietly.
Good to catch, shoe and clip (not been anywhere in the trailer yet!) Excellent
prospect as she is very well bred (BLUP of 111) Easy tölt, trot and canter –
will probably be five gaited although pace is not yet trained.
Imported in utero from Iceland and sadly for sale because we need to cut the
numbers down. Ára is quiet to handle and ride but is not suitable for a novice
due to her age. She has the potential to be a good competition horse, and also

Five year old black Icelandic mare, four gaited with good action and all gaits
easy to find. Gola is a tall, elegant mare; good to catch, shoe, clip and load.
She would make an excellent first Icelandic for somebody who is used to owning
other breeds as her tölt is exceptionally easy even
for newcomers. Everyone who has ridden her has loved her! Gola is good in
traffic and has been on sponsored rides etc during which she was very well
behaved. She also made a good impression in the open classes at her first oval
track competition earlier this year. Used to riding out on the open mountain and
very trustworthy, she would make a great all-rounder with the potential to do

 Skuggi
from Solva GB2008134001
- 2008 gelding by Dropi from
Salisbury out of Olga frá Skiđbakka. Skuggi is a really lovely young horse,
backed lightly last autumn and now being ridden out and brought on both in
company and alone. He is a natural tölter and a very comfortable ride who has
been on the beach, around the lanes, in wide open spaces, in the woods etc and
who is fazed by very little. He is
just under 14.2hh and still growing, strongly built (even for an Icelandic!) and blue dun. He has
competition potential as he´s very well bred, or he would excel as a wonderful
riding horse, for the more experienced rider at present due to his age, but he
should make a lovely family horse eventually. At the moment he´s quite green,
though very bombproof for a youngster. He´s good to catch, box, clip and shoe,
and very good in traffic. Ł4800 - price will rise with training.

 Tindra
from Birdsmoorgate GB2006271012. Lovely 7yr old 5 gaited bay mare for
sale. Approx 137cms and compactly built but she doesn't feel small, she has a
lot in front of the saddle. She's been slowly started and for a while we thought
she would be perfect for my lightly built 9yr old granddaughter since she
listened so attentively to her rider. However, as she became fit and her will
came up, she became a bit too forward going for a nervous child, although she is
very sensible. She's been ridden alone and in company, is good in traffic to
box/shoe, easy to catch & lovely to handle. We have too many and can't give her

IS2005255506 Fidla is a gorgeous, gentle and
sweet-tempered rising eight year old Jarpvindott (silver dapple) mare that I
imported from Iceland in 2011. A horse like this rarely comes on the market in
the UK. Not only does she have a very sought after colour but her BLUP is 104
and her pedigree is outstanding (Her Sire is Fjalar frá Flugumýri II who has a
BLUP conformation score of 112 and a total of 109. Her Grand Sire is Kormákur
frá Flugumýri II whose conformation score is 120 and who has a total BLUP score
of 116, not to mention her Great Grand Sire Kveikur frá Miđsitju who has a total
BLUP of 110). I imported her as a broodmare intending to breed her but do not
have the time for her let alone any foals. While still in Iceland she had one
foal (a vindott filly). So if you are looking for an outstanding broodmare, a
great competition prospect, or simply a head-turner to hack out on Fidla could
be the mare for you. She is naturally 5 gaited and her trot, tolt, pace, and
canter while ridden are all incredibly smooth. She is easy to catch, wash, clip,
shoe and gets along with the other horses. Fidla is 14hh and will happily carry
up to 15 stone. I long reined her extensively last winter and started her under
saddle last spring and rode her out onto the lanes. However, since summer I have
not had much time for her so she will need to be restarted by someone who has
time to bring her on the way she deserves. My lack of time and facilities is why
she is for sale. She is offered for sale for Ł2000 but I will consider offers as
home is more important than money. The price also reflects that Fidla has mild
sweet itch which is completely controlled by her Boett blanket (Boett Blanket

his father is Kvistur fra Ólafsvöllum (qualified for sport A in 4 and 5 gait and
T2) we started working this spring and he is back in training after a summer
break. He has good spirit, is forward going and is an easy learner. He hacks
alone and in company is very well behaved in all kind of traffic, good to shoe
and load etc. He needs an experienced rider since he is still young, he is a
fantastic competition prospect but would be up for everything, he has a very

considering buying an Icelandic Horse - if the horse does not a passport from
the IHSGB or other similar recognised FEIF Icelandic horse organisation then it may
not be a pure Icelandic horse, and it will not be eligible to compete at formal IHS shows etc.
We cannot accept adverts on this site for horses which do not have a FEIF
registration number.
