Not long to go until the British Championships,
and the IHSGB Summer Show.
The British Championships are the most important sports event for the Icelandic horse and rider in the calendar, and this year they will be held near Edinburgh!
2011 is a World Championship year (see http://www.islandpferde-wm.at
<http://www.islandpferde-wm.at/> ), and riders who want to go to Austria will need to qualify for the British Team on the weekend 24/25/26th June on the oval track at West Tarf, near the village of West Linton. (google maps: post code EH46. You can see the oval track on the satellite view!!!) This should make for an exciting tournament, not only for the riders, but likewise for spectators.
At the same time, you friends and riders who might not be aiming for the world will also be competing in a wide range of sports classes in all 5 gaits of the Icelandic horse, and the event promises to showcase a great selection of different riders and their horses. Please support your team, and your friends, and the wonderful Icelandic horse. Spectators are welcome to all the events. Entrance for day visitors is free!
If one day’s watching is not enough for you, and you want to camp on the show ground, a camping fee of £15 per person applies.
For more info see <http://www.ihsgb.co.uk/> . For any questions not directly to do with the competition itself, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
, and I will do my best to find the right answer to your questions.
See you all in West Tarf!
